Impact Windows in Sea Ranch Lakes, FL

Sea Ranch Lakes is one of the smallest places we serve, and almost every impact window job here is for a single-family house from the 1960s. The village incorporated in 1959 and covers about a fifth of a square mile along A1A, surrounded by Lauderdale-by-the-Sea. Census estimates show about 94 percent of its roughly 220 homes are detached houses, nearly all owner-occupied, and close to half were built in the 1960s.

Mid-century houses near the ocean

The residential area borders the Intracoastal Waterway and wraps around two artificial freshwater lakes, with the ocean a short walk away. Houses from the 1960s commonly have awning or jalousie windows, or early replacements that are now worn. Salt air ages them faster.

Impact doors for lake and water views

Houses that face the lakes or the Intracoastal often have sliders or French doors on that side. Impact versions in aluminum frames with laminated glass protect those openings without shutters. Out-swing French doors are common here because wind pushes them into the frame.

Shutters and seasonal homes

Some owners keep roll-down shutters over the largest glass for privacy and shade while traveling. We can price shutters as part of a plan.

Sizing units for a 1960s house

After six decades, a window opening may have been resized, filled in or patched during earlier remodels. We record each one as it stands today, check the block and any wood buck, and order every unit to that opening rather than to the original plans.
